Maca, a long-time employee of the Buenos Aires Zoo (now called Ecoparque) has the patience of someone who spends their time thinking in centuries. MONOLOGO COLECTIVO explores notions of care and captivity from her perspective as she navigates through the zoo’s varying departments and their diverse workers. Although the zoo is filled with conflicts, it gradually becomes clear to Maca that she shares a common goal of caring with colleagues. The gesture of caring for animals, trees, monuments or buildings reveals how each worker within the zoo’s ecosystem is fighting for the life of these beings.
